Step 1: Prepare your computer and cable or DSL modem.

a)    Shutdown your PC.

b)    Remove power (or turn off) your cable or DSL modem.
 

 Step 2: Connect your PhoneOverNet DigitalPhone adapter.

a)    Connect one end of your telephone’s RJ-11 phone cable (not supplied) to the phone adapter’s PHONE 1 port (color coded green).

b)    Connect the other end to your analog telephone (corded or cordless).

c)    Repeat steps 2a & 2b only if you have a second phone number, using PHONE 2 port.

d)    Disconnect your PC from the cable or DSL modem, leaving one end connected to the modem .

e)    Connect the supplied ethernet cable to the ETHERNET port (color coded yellow) on the phone adapter; and connect the other end of the cable to your PC’s network jack (where you modem was originally connected).

f)     Connect the ethernet cable from your modem to the INTERNET port (color coded blue) on the phone adapter.

g)    Connect the supplied power adapter to the POWER port on the phone adapter.

Step 3: Prepare your computer, modem and phone adapter.

a)    Reapply power to your modem, and wait 60 seconds.

b)    Plug the phone adapter’s power supply into an electrical outlet and wait 60 seconds.

c)    Turn on your PC.

d)    You should now be able to access the internet as you normally do and you're now ready to "program" your PhoneOverNet DigitalPhone adapter if necessary.

 

Step 4: Provision the PhoneOverNet DigitalPhone adapter.

a)    If your PhoneOverNet DigitalPhone adapter has a label or sticker applied to it with your phone number, there is no programming needed, and you should be able to make and receive phone calls now.  Stop here, and do not continue with the steps below.

b)  If your PhoneOverNet DigitalPhone adapter is new out of the box and does not have a label or sticker with your phone number printed on it, the unit will need to be programmed (provisioned) first.  To do this, after you have completed the steps above, you will simply click on the "Provision DigitalPhone Adapter" button below.  It will then load its programming from our servers.  This process may take a couple of minutes to complete.
